The entire drive onto the island was lined with ancient oak trees. The entire island was covered in oaks too, especially their "traffic islands" that consisted of giant trees. There was one right at the end of the driveway...which was a challenge for our giant truck to maneuver around!
Abbie and her husband Brian have a new baby boy, Corbin, and the boys were infatuated with him. After I took a photo of the boys on the beach Pnut had my camera and it was really funny to find all of these photos of Corbin when I downloaded the camera....
He also took this photo of his toys and toes...
The beach was expansive, especially at low tide, so we did what Mercer's do best and enjoyed it! (and yes, those are our cornhole boards on the beach...we are good people to invite to beach houses and gatherings on the beach...did I mention we also had a cooler full of beers and fresh caught shrimp?)
Beer Football! |
Okay, so I know I said I was'nt going to take any more photos of dolphins, but these guys were SO CLOSE to us on the beach (not up a creek or in the river but at the BEACH!)
This guy was slapping the water and flipping around... so cool! |
Ben checking out the dolphins up close. |
Brian was a hero to the boys... a real life construction guy digging a ditch for them!! |
Fun with shadows!! |
Daddy had to prove he could make sand castles as nice as Brian's ditch the day before. |
It was a fun time with some cool people! Thanks again for the invite Erin!
